Oestrogel® is an Estrogen Replacement Therapy (ERT), part of Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT). It contains the female hormone estradiol. Oestrogel® is used in postmenopausal women with at least 6 months since their last natural period. During the menopause, the amount of the oestrogen produced by a woman’s body drops. This can cause symptoms such as hot face, neck and chest (“hot flushes”). Oestrogel® alleviates these symptoms after menopause. You will only be prescribed Oestrogel® if your symptoms seriously hinder your daily life[3]. A progesterone needs to be taken in association with Oestrogel® in postmenopauasl women who has an intact uterus.

Progestogel® contains a hormone called progesterone. It is used to treat the benign breast pathologies (painful breasts, premenstrual symptoms) due to a local lack of progesterone [4-5].

DUOGESTAN®* tablets and soft gel capsules contains two types of female hormones: an estrogen and a progesterone. It belongs to a group of medicines called hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It is used to reduce the symptoms of the menopause like hot flushes [6] .

Trophigil® contains Estriol and progesterone, two female sex hormones, and lactobacillus rhamnosus, it belongs to a group of hormones called oestrogens. It is exactly the same as the Estriol produced by the ovaries of women. Trophigil® belongs to a group of medicines called local Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). It is used to relieve menopausal symptoms in the vagina such as dryness or irritation. In medical terms this is known as ‘vaginal atrophy’. It is caused by a drop in the levels of oestrogen in your body. This happens naturally after the menopause. Trophigil® works by replacing the oestrogen which is normally produced in the ovaries of women. It is inserted into your vagina, so the hormone is released where it is needed. This may relieve discomfort in the vagina [7].

Androgel® is used as Testosterone replacement therapy for male hypogonadism (testosterone deficiency) when testosterone deficiency has been confirmed by clinical features and biochemical tests. Testogel®/ Androgel® is associated with a range of improvements in men with low testosterone including Mental wellbeing, Sexual wellbeing & Physical & metabolic measures [8]

Andractim® or DHT is the active metabolite of testosterone. It is used for men with male hormone deficiencies (hypogonadism) and locally to treat gynecomastia or genital dermatosis (atrophic sclerosis) [9]
